How have your thoughts about work, and your future work life, changed over the course of this class? As a result of your interview and research project?

well i didnt know much about work aside from what others have told me about it. now that ive read and researched what some jobs require of you (like emotional labor...ur status going into a job) the imagine that was in my mind about how my work like was goin to be has changed drastically. before i used to have the mind set that if u love what you do than u dont work a day in your life. now i kno even if u take on a perfession of your choice it mite not always be easy.

2. What made yor interested in picking this kind of work?
3. what are your job requirements?
4. How long have you been in the position you work in now?
5. how many children do you have? how old are they?
6. how did you manage to raise small children and keep your job(s)?
7. do you think "status" has anything to do with the positions the employees are given when they are hired at the Marriot?

3) If you were at the budget hearing on Thursday, give your thoughts about the events and/or how budget cuts and/or tuition hikes would affect you and your thoughts about this

it blows my mind to hear about tuition hikes especially at a time like this. Being in a recession is hard enough, and is taking it toll on everyone. transportation fair are already being raised so affording those few extra dollars is hard enough and now theres talks about raising tuition also that's just crazy. its hard enough to afford to the daycare with the refund checks if they raise tuition n not pell then that's money that has to come out of my pockets, and i don't work so i cant afford to pay anythng from my own pockets. i just think if tuition is raised then more things need to be done to help us students stay in school n not force us out.

2) We've read a variety of stories about work. Soon, you'll do a project centered around interviewing someone about their work. What kind of work are you interested in learning more about? Brainstorm people you know who you might like to interview. Ideally, they should have been in their area of work for a while, or have worked a variety of jobs.

I would like to interview a nurse, since its my furture carrer choice,but i dont know to many Registered Nurses and my cousin who is a nurse lives in virginia. My second choic is to interview my mother. She has been working in the hotel business as a service worker for as long as i can remember, so i think it will be interesting to hear her answers to the questions i come up with.
